Tonight I decided to go back to basics with my astrophotography. It has been the first clear night for a long time and with my new DSLR (D7000) and Hahnel Intervolometer I thought I would try my hand at StarTrails again.

The image below is a total of 3hrs 36min of exposures made up of 108 individual 2min exposures. I decided to limit exposures to 2mins for several reasons: to allow a small aperture to prevent blowing out the house lights but, more importantly, it allowed me to minimise the effect of light pollution.
