Well, due to lack of software support for Nikons and Astrophotography I have decided to buy a dedicated intervolometer for my D200. The Hahnel Giga T is a dedicated wireless remote which also acts as an intervolometer and time laps remote. With this I am now able to set exposure lengths and how many I want to take, together with an interval between shots. I can then leave my kit clicking away only periodically checking for batter and guiding errors.
